Biography:

Education

I spent my childhood in rural New Hampshire and urban and suburban Massachusetts. I received a highly diverse education through attendance at Waldorf School (6 years), a (Quaker) Friends school (2 years), public school (1 year), performing arts school (2 years), and a rigorous college preparatory school (2 years).

In 1990, I graduated second in my class and received a First Class (highest) Honors Masters degree in Psychology from the oldest and most prestigious university in Scotland (and a favorite alma mater of British royalty), the University of St. Andrews. The Scottish university system works quite differently from the American system; it is an intensive program which results in an M.A. degree after 4 years of intensely focused study in one's degree subject. My psychology degree is a research, rather than clinical practice degree, and my areas of focus are in non-verbal communication, subliminal perception, and social-spatial relationships.

I completed a continuing education certificate program in Human Resource Management at California State University, Hayward in 1995.

Professional Background

In the 1990s, I worked with the SF Bay Area Girl Scouts, a large non-profit organization serving 30,000 girls and 12,000 adult volunteers in the Bay Area. Beginning as an Administrative Assistant, I was soon promoted to Program Coordinator. During my nearly 9 years with this organization, I took advantage of extensive opportunities to develop both creatively (designing many T-shirts, embroidered patches, event flyers, event and program catalogs, camp websites, instruction manuals, and more) and in my capacity as a business administrator (annually recruiting hundreds of staff and thousands of campers for 6 summer camps, providing liaison with fellow staff, campers, parents, outside venders, service providers, and contractors, and troubleshooting, problem solving, and resolving conflicts on a daily basis). In addition, I wrote detailed educational packets for High School-aged Girl Scouts to earn proficiency patches and was responsible for hiring and supervising 5 independent contractors and 1 full-time assistant during each summer camp season.

Webdillo Design

In March 2000, I started my own Bay Area based business as a web designer, graphic designer, and photographer assisting small businesses, non-profits, visionaries and entrepreneurs in promoting and presenting their businesses to the world. Since that time, I have worked with dozens of clients, many of them in a long-term (5+ year) capacity. My areas of expertise are in building websites, business consulting, systems design, graphic design (logos, printed and online marketing materials), producing online marketing campaigns, producing and promoting client teleseminars and online learning courses, and assisting my clients with their general web-based business administration needs.

My business has allowed me to make the best use of my diverse skills and experience for maximum benefit to the clients with whom I choose to work. Combining strong background in psychology and business administration, my natural graphic and design sense, and my aptitude for and ability to adapt to the ever-changing technological mediums of the modern business world, I consistently generate results that translate into success for my clients. My clients find me highly capable of creating and maintaining business systems and web-based products that allow them to focus on what they do best -- offering their skills and visions to their customers -- rather than spending time struggling to present and organize their business presence.

Personality

People who know me well describe me as creative, organized, self-motivated, detail-oriented, smart, quirky, philosophical, dependable and helpful.

I truly believe in working with the following motto in mind: “if your work is doing what you love, you'll never have to work a day in your life!” I believe the key to loving what you do (and having a sense of “flow” as you work, is focus on what you are uniquely and naturally good at as well as to work with others who are skilled in the areas where you need support.

Work of this kind generates its own motivation and its own reward. I appreciate being respected for what I do and being entrusted with the opportunity to help others become more successful and to spread their unique visions and messages to the world.

I am also deeply inspired by learning. I love to see what more there is to know about any given thing. Often the search to meet a clients' need or to solve a problem moves me into new and fascinating areas of new learning. Rather than seeing the issues that arise as problems, I aim to see them as opportunities to grow and to come into a more deep alignment with what actually works.
