We offer large and medium-sized workshop rooms, as well as therapy/office space, two bathrooms and a full kitchen. Amenities include a panoramic bay view, a woodburning stove, laundry facilities, two sunny outdoor decks, and a big back yard complete with hot tub. Chairs and backjacks are available for renters' use. The main floor is wheelchair-accessible.

The Anam.Cara House is affiliated with the Anam.Cara Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating pathways to wholeness through Applied Shamanism, Depth Hypnosis, Energy Medicine, and more. (In case you were wondering... Anam Cara means "soul friend" in Gaelic.)

Location and Parking

The Anam.Cara House is centrally located in southeastern Oakland, approximately 30 minutes' drive from San Francisco or Mill Valley/San Rafael, 40 minutes from the South Bay, and 15 minutes from Berkeley or Walnut Creek. We're just a few blocks from the Seminary Avenue exit off Highway 580 or 13. Directions will be provided when you confirm your space rental reservation.

Parking is limited in front of the Anam.Cara House. However, virtually unlimited street parking is available two blocks away on Seminary Avenue. Out of respect for our neighbors, we ask visitors and renters to park on Seminary if the walk uphill will not cause undue physical hardship. The four spaces directly in front of the house may be reserved for group leaders or attendees with mobility issues.

For attendees using public transportation, cab or bus service is available from the Coliseum BART station, two miles away.
