Positive
Elephant
Positive Elephant...
Asks you not to tear the flowers too harshly from the vase,
Says you might someday need the ace (so keep it close),
Watches only slightly interested as they arrange specimens neatly on trays,
Helps you to find the moss-lined heart-felt nesting place,
Holds your hand; let us pray that feeling stays.
Positive Elephant...
Lets you look into the black velvet, fur-lined case,
With him, from the sodden earth you can raise,
Though through shimmering heat-wave you gaze,
Be still and look upon the everlasting smiling face
Which fills the dance with elegance and gentle grace.
(Not to worry, it's just the pre-enlightenment phase.
I really hope the long drawn out guess pays
and isn't just some complex glowing computer screen interface.)
You may find him in a splatter-painted maze.
You may find him when you've finally begun avoiding
That old favorite blackhole self-sucking laze.
Perhaps within the intricate pattern of fine lace?
He's just beyond the well-famed purple haze,
If you can get past that primordial tortoise pace,
And avoid like the plague the lentil and bean dip craze.
He's moving in the flowing fields of autumn maize,
The glimmer of hope in the human race,
Truly all-alive in the paisley-tapestry daze.
So make some room and find a space,
Continue mending your more meandering ways.
When he speaks you'll recognize the place...
Nowhere near stammering hypothetical paraphrase.
If you see him blinding white,
In the desert unexpectedly and leaving little trace,
Remember this my friend:
He connects the meaning in the texture of our days,
And put you in this vast sweet scented pasture to graze.
